Acorns CEO conducts meetings in Washington D.C.

Acorns CEO, Noah Kerner, visited Washington D.C. on May 24-25, to conduct a series of meetings with various stakeholders, policymakers and regulators. Acorns, a company in which PayPal has heavily invested is a wealth management company specifically geared towards helping millennials invest and grow their wealth. The meetings in D.C. provided an excellent opportunity for Noah, along with our PayPal GR team, to educate policymakers, administration officials and third party groups about the power of micro-investing through products like Acorns. In doing so, Noah was able to begin building relationships with key stakeholders while PayPal GR took the opportunity to discuss PayPal’s investment in a company that aligns with our vision of financial health and financial inclusion. Over the two days of meetings, Noah was able to meet with organizations like the Department of Consumer Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA) Investor Education Foundation as well as the Milken Institute among others. The group also conducted meetings with 11 Congressional offices including Member-Level meetings with Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH), Jim Himes (D-CT), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) and made introductions to Randy Hultgren (R-IL) and Jared Polis (D-CO). Each of the meetings were ideally scheduled with folks who were eager to learn more about the product and an appetite to discuss policy issues that could impact wealth management products like Acorns.
