On January 11, Coalition for the American Dream released a letter signed by over 115 CEOs from every industry calling on Congress to take swift action on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program set to end on March 5th. The legislation has enabled Dreamers, who entered the U.S. as children, to live, work and contribute to their community.
Dan Schulman, President and CEO of PayPal, signed his name to the letter along with many other top leaders in business, trade associations and other organizations.
The letter urges members of Congress to find a permanent bipartisan legislative solution by January 19th to leave time for the Department of Homeland Security to implement the solution. The signees stress the impending crisis if a legislative fix is not found, putting American businesses at risk of losing valuable talent and causing disruptions in the workforce that could reflect poorly on the economy. In fact, the letter states "economists across the idealogical spectrum have also determined that if Congress fails to act our economy could lose $215 billion in GDP."
PayPal is proud to stand with other industry leaders in protecting Dreamers and supporting the economy.
