On May 9, PayPal is participating in the Net Neutrality Day of Action through its trade association Internet Association to support a free and open internet.
The Internet Association, which represents a number of technology companies, relaunched its Net Neutrality Day of Action website to urge policymakers to support the Congressional Review Act (CRA) or other bipartisan legislation that will encourage a neutral internet. Throughout the day of May 9, IA and all of its member companies will communicate their support for enforceable principles such as a ban on blocking, throttling, and paid prioritization.
The issue of net neutrality is central to many Americans across the country but particularly the 87% of rural Americans that have no choices for high speed broadband. Those lack of choices can lead to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) playing gatekeeper to content and access.
The Net Neutrality Day of Action landing page provides consumers a portal to contact their senators through email and social media and includes graphics that explain the nuts and bolts of the issue.
