Sri also shared how PayPal invests in “edge R&D” in order to explore the potential of innovative and novel technologies. Sri emphasised that PayPal invests in such “edge R&D” for the betterment of the technology ecosystem at large. The audience was especially interested in Sri’s insights on distributed ledger systems and the social impact of the Internet-of-Things.
In addition, Sri talked about how PayPal’s best-in-class tokenization technology and cybersecurity systems enhance buyer confidence. Due to our commitment to protect our clients’ data and funds, the PayPal logo is a symbol of trust recognized by millions of customers all over the world. As a result, PayPal-powered e-commerce merchants now enjoy a cart conversion rate of approximately 87.5%, compared to 50% or less for other payment types.
In summary, this event was a success in enabling PayPal to demonstrate thought leadership in various topics and strengthen our ties with the American business community in Singapore.
