On January 23rd, Megan Hannigan, Manager of PayPal Government Relations, spoke on a panel hosted by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) a trade association of which PayPal is a member. The panel was part of a daylong event on Capitol Hill sponsored by ETA called “ETA University” designed to educate policymakers on the modern payments system and FinTech. Industry experts engaged in advanced discussion on emerging economic, business and policy trends in the FinTech arena.
The panel discussion Megan participated in focused specifically on small business lending and access to financing for entrepreneurs. Megan spoke about the PayPal Working Capital program, in particular the ways it has benefited PayPal merchants who are struggling to access capital elsewhere. She educated the group on the transparency and speed that PPWC offers to small businesses, allowing them to access the funds they need to grow. Megan was joined on the panel by representatives from Intuit and OnDeck who spoke about the products their companies offer that are intended to help entrepreneurs succeed.
PayPal will continue to engage in these important thought leadership discussions that educate stakeholders on the benefits of PayPal’s small business financing solutions and discuss how FinTech can help to provide access to financial services for the the underserved.
