On Thursday, November 9th, the PayPal GR team hosted the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) Emerging Leaders Symposium at our headquarters in San Jose, CA for a full day of leadership training and networking for the various legislative attendees.
The National Conference of State Legislatures is the nation’s largest nonpartisan state legislative research entity, trade group and information clearinghouse. Several times a year, NCSL conducts meetings in with state legislators to share best practices and discuss the major public policy topics currently relevant.
What makes the Leadership Symposium unique is that its core focus is on the development of the soft skills necessary to be a successful leader in one’s state legislative body. While on campus, Emerging Leaders Symposium attendees heard from PayPal VP of Global Government Relations, Richard Nash, VT Speaker Mitzi Johnson, NCSL staff and Stanford Graduate School of Business Professor Steve Callander.
With most state legislatures reconvening in January, the Symposium was a truly unique opportunity for legislative attendees to work on leadership training and development so they can deliver successful outcomes for their states and constituents in 2018 and beyond.
