On September 14, PayPal sponsored and participated in a Diversity in Tech & Media event as part of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Annual Legislative Conferences in Washington, D.C.
The event brought together Members of Congress, industry professionals and civic leaders to recognize the work being done to bring more diversity to the tech and media industries as well as the progress that still can be made.
PayPal VP of Global Government Relations, Richard Nash, presented two awards during the event. The first was the Leadership and Diversity award honoring Congressman G.K. Butterfield (D-NC). The Congressman unfortunately was in his home state of North Carolina preparing for the impact of Hurricane Florence on his district. However, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) accepted the award on his behalf.
Richard also presented the Diversity and Inclusion advocate award to Alma Acosta, Executive Director of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
Overall, the event was a great success in bringing together thought leaders from around D.C. and across the country to celebrate greater inclusion in the workforce.
